It is my proud privilege and honor to introduce and welcome into our midst an international star, Prof. Dr. Sumith K. Mathew, a renowned expert and pioneer in Precision Medicine, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM), and Pharmacometrics. Prof. Mathew brings with him an unparalleled depth of knowledge and expertise, having made significant contributions to these fields, which are reshaping modern healthcare.

Until recently, Prof. Dr. Sumith Mathew served at the prestigious Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, where he led the Clinical Pharmacology and TDM service. His leadership at CMC propelled the department to international acclaim, thanks to his innovative approaches in personalized medicine and the meticulous monitoring of therapeutic drugs to ensure optimal patient outcomes. His contributions have helped bridge the gap between clinical practice and advanced pharmacological research.

Currently, Prof. Mathew holds the esteemed position of Regional South Asia Pacific Chair for the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (IATDMCT), further solidifying his reputation as a global authority in the domain of clinical pharmacology and TDM. His work with the IATDMCT has fostered collaboration and knowledge sharing across the South Asia Pacific region, advancing the global understanding of TDM and its critical role in patient care.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Prof. Dr. Sumith Mathew join the faculty at Believers Church Medical College, where he will serve in the Department of Pharmacology. His appointment as the head of the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory marks a new era for our institution. This state-of-the-art facility, one of the few in the country, is dedicated to high-precision drug analysis, pharmacokinetic studies, and the development of advanced therapeutic strategies. Under Prof. Mathew's guidance, the lab will undoubtedly become a national hub for cutting-edge research and clinical innovation.
