As part of a monumental collaboration between Believers Church Medical College Hospital (BCMCH) and Karlstad University (KAU), Sweden, two distinguished members of our faculty—Mrs. Mini Sarah Thomas and Dr. Jacob Jesurun—are embarking on an official visit to Sweden as part of a new academic partnership.

In January 2023, Mrs. Mini Sarah Thomas and Dr. Jacob Jesurun traveled to Karlstad University at the invitation of KAU, where they engaged in intense brainstorming sessions and focused group discussions. These discussions led to the development of an exciting new project on "Holistic Healthcare in Nursing."

A Prestigious Recognition and Approval

Their efforts culminated in the successful submission of the project to the European Union, which recently approved a fully funded, 3-year Erasmus+ program between BCMCH and KAU. This groundbreaking program will strengthen the international partnership between the two institutions, fostering academic exchange, collaborative research, and curriculum development.

Mrs. Mini Sarah Thomas has been designated as the Nursing Coordinator, and Dr. Jacob Jesurun as the Academic Coordinator of the program from BCMCH. Together, they will collaborate with the faculty of KAU to create innovative curricula and participate in joint research ventures aimed at advancing the field of nursing and holistic healthcare.

A New Chapter: The First Faculty Mobility Program

As part of this prestigious Erasmus+ program, Mrs. Mini Sarah Thomas and Dr. Jacob Jesurun are embarking on the first faculty mobility program, traveling to KAU for 9 days of academic exchange. During their stay, they will deliver lectures, conduct workshops, and participate in focused group discussions with the esteemed faculty and students at Karlstad University.

Their visit marks the beginning of a new chapter in international collaboration, with the potential for future exchanges, research opportunities, and shared knowledge. We are excited to witness the fruits of this partnership, which promises to create innovative approaches to nursing education and healthcare.

Exciting Prospects for International Teamwork

The BCMCH-KAU partnership represents a significant milestone in our journey towards becoming a global leader in healthcare education and research. This Erasmus+ program will not only enhance the academic environment at both institutions but also provide invaluable opportunities for cross-cultural collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

We wish Mrs. Mini Sarah Thomas, Dr. Jacob Jesurun, and the entire program the very best as they embark on this exciting journey! The future of nursing education is brighter with this collaboration, and we look forward to witnessing the success of their international teamwork.

Bon voyage, and may this partnership soar to new heights! 🌍
