Introduction: Parkinson's Disease, a progressive neurological disorder, affects millions worldwide. As we mark World Parkinson's Awareness Day on April 11th, 2024, it's an opportunity to shed light on this condition, offer support, and inspire inclusion within our communities.

Department of Neurology & Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: At the forefront of Parkinson's care is the Department of Neurology & Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This specialized department is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support for individuals living with Parkinson's Disease.

Theme: Inspiring Inclusion: This year's theme revolves around "Inspiring Inclusion." It emphasizes the importance of embracing individuals with Parkinson's Disease into our communities, fostering empathy, understanding, and support.

Free Clinical Package for Parkinson's Patients on April 11th, 2024: To commemorate World Parkinson's Awareness Day, the Department of Neurology & Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is offering a free clinical package for Parkinson's patients. This package includes essential lab tests and consultations aimed at managing the condition effectively.

Lab Tests Included:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Creatinine
  • Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
  • Total Cholesterol

Consultations Available: Patients will have access to consultations with specialists from various fields, including:

  • Neurology
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR)
  • Psychiatry
  • Geriatrics

Public Meeting: A public meeting will be held on April 11th, 2024, providing an opportunity for individuals affected by Parkinson's Disease, their families, and caregivers to come together. The meeting will take place at the Central Courtyard from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Continuing Medical Education (CME): Additionally, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the 4th Floor Amphitheatre. This session is designed to educate healthcare professionals about the latest advancements in Parkinson's treatment and management.

 രാവിലെ 10 മണി മുതൽ നടന്ന പൊതുപരിപാടി പ്രമുഖ ആർകിടെക്റ്റും പദ്മശ്രീ ജേതാവുമായ ശ്രീ ജി. ശങ്കർ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. സംസ്ഥാന ഭിന്നശേഷി കമ്മിഷണർ ശ്രീ പഞ്ചപകേശൻ മഹനീയ സാന്നിധ്യമായി. ബിലിവേഴ്സ് ചർച്ച് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റൽ ഡയറക്ടറും സി. ഇ. ഒ യും ആയ ഡോക്ടർ ജോർജ് ചാണ്ടി മറ്റെത്ര അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ച ചടങ്ങിൽ മെഡിക്കൽ സുപ്രണ്ടന്റ് ഡോക്ടർ ജോംസി ജോർജ്‌, പ്രശസ്ത ന്യൂറോളജിസ്റ് ഡോക്ടർ സുജിത് ഓവല്ലത്, ന്യൂറോളജിവിഭാഗം മേധാവി ഡോക്ടർ ജോൺ കെ ജോൺ, പി എം ർ വിഭാഗം മാനേജർ ശ്രീ ബിജു മറ്റപ്പള്ളി, ന്യൂറോളജിസ്റ് ഡോക്ടർ അനിൽ കുമാർ ശിവൻ എന്നിവർ സംസാരിച്ചു.13 ഭിന്നശേഷിക്കാർക്കായുള്ള

നിർത്താം എന്നു രോഗികൾക്കും അവരെ  ശുശ്രുഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കും മനസിലാക്കാൻ ഈ ക്ലാസുകൾ സഹായിച്ചു.
