Team Believers at Thuruthicad: A Day of Wellness and Awareness

Team Believers at Thuruthicad: A Day of Wellness and Awareness 🌟

We are excited to share the highlights of an impactful and inspiring day, where Team Believers made a meaningful contribution to the community at Thuruthicad!

1. Launch of “Be Well” — Believers Wellness Club

Under the leadership of the Department of Community Medicine, we proudly launched the "Be Well" (Believers Wellness Club) — an initiative designed to promote health, fitness, and holistic wellness within the community.

The objective of "Be Well" is to encourage individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles, emphasizing preventive healthcare, regular physical activity, mental well-being, and nutritional awareness. This club aims to be a platform where community members can engage, learn, and take proactive steps towards a healthier future.

The launch was met with tremendous enthusiasm, and it marked the beginning of a vibrant journey towards building a stronger, healthier society!

2. Health Awareness Session: Stroke and Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responding to a special request from the community, our team conducted a highly informative and interactive awareness session, covering two critical healthcare topics:

➔ Stroke Awareness:

Led by the Department of Community Medicine, this session focused on educating the public about the warning signs of stroke, the importance of early detection, and timely medical intervention. Participants were taught to recognize key symptoms such as sudden numbness, confusion, difficulty speaking, vision problems, and loss of balance.

Early action can save lives, and through this session, the community was empowered to act swiftly and seek immediate medical help in case of a stroke.

➔ Basic Life Support (BLS) Training:

The Department of Emergency Medicine conducted a practical and engaging BLS training session.
Community members learned vital life-saving skills such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), the Heimlich maneuver for choking, and other immediate interventions that can make a critical difference in emergencies.

Hands-on demonstrations ensured that participants gained confidence in responding effectively to real-life medical emergencies.

Team Behind the Initiative:

We would like to specially acknowledge the contributions of the dedicated team members who made this initiative a resounding success:

  • Dr. Saritha (Community Medicine)

  • Dr. Abin (Emergency Medicine)

  • Mr. Avira (Department of Community Medicine)

  • Bichu (Support Staff)

  • MSW Interns (Master of Social Work trainees)

Their passion, expertise, and teamwork truly brought life to the event and created a lasting impact on the community.

A Step Towards Healthier Communities

Through initiatives like these, Team Believers reaffirms its commitment to community engagement, health promotion, and preventive medicine. We look forward to many more such opportunities where we can serve, educate, and build healthier, stronger communities together.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible! Together, we believe in a healthier tomorrow! 🌿
