On this World Kidney Day, the Nephrology Department at Believers Hospital has launched a year-long kidney disease prevention campaign, reinforcing its commitment to raising awareness, enhancing early detection, and improving kidney health across communities.

The campaign was inaugurated by Dr. George Chandy Matteethra and marks a collaborative effort with the Department of Community Medicine to educate the public and train healthcare professionals on preventing and managing chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Empowering Communities Through Education

In an effort to tackle the rising burden of kidney disease, the campaign will include:

📌 Monthly Awareness Programs in Schools & Colleges
✅ Educating students, teachers, and parents about the importance of a healthy lifestyle
✅ Highlighting the risks of Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension, which are leading causes of CKD
✅ Encouraging early screening and preventive habits for lifelong kidney health

📌 Training for Primary Care Providers Across the State
✅ Conducting Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions to enhance early diagnosis and intervention
✅ Equipping doctors with updated guidelines on CKD management and prevention
✅ Promoting lifestyle-based preventive strategies in primary healthcare settings
