BCMCH Staff Care During Floods

 BCMCH Staff Care During Floods

The BCMCH leadership has put together a comprehensive disaster management plan to support staff during the ongoing floods in the region. The plan includes transportation, accommodation, manpower assistance, and children's day care.

Transportation

To ensure the safe commute of staff to and from work, the BCMCH has arranged transportation services to the following locations: Thiruvalla, Changanassery, and Mankombu (Edathua, Neerattupuram, Chakkulathukavu, Podiyadi, and Chennithala).

Accommodation

In the event that staff's homes have been affected by the floods or the roads are blocked, the BCMCH has made arrangements for alternative accommodation. Hospital facilities, hostels, Manjadi, Ayushalayam, etc., are available to provide temporary shelter for staff and their families.

Manpower Assistance

The BCMCH has assigned an Operations Coordinator to assist staff with manpower requirements for relocation and shifting. The Operations Coordinator can be reached for any necessary assistance.

Children's Day Care

The BCMCH has set up a children's day care facility on the 4th floor BREAK area for children above 6 years (1st standard and above). Parents are requested to make arrangements for food or coordinate with the Operations Coordinator for any paid services.

Doxycycline Prophylaxis

As soon as the current disaster subsides and the water recedes, the BCMCH will be providing free doxycycline prophylaxis to all staff in flood-affected areas. The Community Medicine Department will also be organizing relief camps in the flood-affected areas.

The BCMCH leadership urges all staff to prioritize their safety, cooperate with the designated coordinators, and follow the instructions provided by the authorities. The well-being of staff and their families is of utmost importance to the BCMCH.

If you require any further assistance or have any queries, please do not hesitate to reach out to the respective coordinators mentioned above.
