Exploring Advanced Epidemiology: Deepak’s Participation in the GeoHealth India Workshop

We are proud to announce that Deepak has successfully completed a four-day intensive workshop organized by the GeoHealth India Collaborative. This prestigious event brought together leading researchers and experts to delve into cutting-edge epidemiological study designs and their applications in Geographic, Environmental, and Occupational Health.

What is GeoHealth India?

GeoHealth is an acronym for Geographic, Environmental, and Occupational Health. It is a research hub comprising experts from globally renowned institutions:

🔹 Centre for Chronic Disease Control – New Delhi
🔹 Ashoka University
🔹 Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
🔹 Karolinska Institutet, Sweden

This initiative aims to bridge research gaps in the field of geospatial epidemiology, environmental health, and occupational disease burden, equipping healthcare professionals with essential tools to analyze and address public health challenges.

Key Highlights of the Workshop

This workshop featured an esteemed faculty, including:

Petter Ljungmann & Jeroen De Bont (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden)
Massimo Stafoggia (Lazio Regional Health, Italy)
Poornima Prabhakar (Ashoka University)
Ajith Rajiva (University of Ben-Gurion / Ashoka University)
Other leading experts in environmental and occupational epidemiology

The participants explored advanced epidemiological methodologies, such as:

📌 Case Crossover Designs – A method to evaluate short-term environmental exposures and their health impacts.
📌 Time Series Analysis – Used to study trends in disease incidence and environmental exposures over time.
📌 Difference-in-Difference Analysis – A powerful statistical technique for evaluating policy impacts on health outcomes.
📌 Spatiotemporal Modeling – To assess geographic and time-based variations in disease patterns.

The Future of GeoHealth Research at Believers

With Deepak’s expertise strengthened through this workshop, there is immense potential for initiating research projects in environmental and occupational health at Believers Church Medical College Hospital. The application of spatiotemporal epidemiology could enhance our understanding of disease patterns, air pollution impacts, occupational hazards, and more.

We look forward to seeing Deepak and our research community take GeoHealth principles forward and contribute to groundbreaking work in this field.

Congratulations, Deepak! 🎉

Your dedication to learning, research, and innovation is an inspiration to us all.
