This year's Omoiyaride marks a significant milestone for us: 50 successful bone marrow transplants at Believers Church Medical College Hospital—an incredible achievement for Central Travancore, making complex, life-saving treatments accessible to our community.

Inspired by Omoiyari, the Japanese concept of caring deeply for others, the Omoiyaride 50 km cycling event is dedicated to raising awareness of bone marrow donation and transplantation. This event isn’t just about the ride; it’s a movement to advocate for life-saving, impactful change:

  • Bone marrow donation is often misunderstood, yet it’s a non-surgical and life-saving act, much like donating blood. By breaking down myths, we can encourage more people to become donors.

  • Autologous transplants for multiple myeloma offer transformative treatment, yet many remain unaware of this option. We want patients to understand that this life-changing procedure is within reach.

  • For children with conditions such as aplastic anemia and thalassemia, bone marrow transplants can be life-saving. Raising awareness about these treatments can lead to greater hope and access for young patients and their families.

Through Omoiyaride, we aim to inspire you and others to join this cause. Let’s spread awareness, offer support to patients, and encourage more to consider the powerful act of becoming a bone marrow donor. Together, we can create ripples of hope and change in our community.

Thank you once again for standing with us, and let’s continue to ride for hope and unity.

Warm regards,
Team RACTHAM 🚴‍♂️
