In an inspiring initiative to engage diverse age groups in environmental conservation, the UHTC team from the Department of Community Medicine celebrated World Environment Day with a "Tree Planting" event. Held at Karakkal Anganwadi, LP School Kallopara, and Peringara Marthanda Teachers Training Institute, the event focused on planting Neem trees (Azadirachta indica), a species renowned for its environmental benefits.

Event Highlights

Tree Planting Ceremonies

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the UHTC team organized tree planting events across three different centers:

  1. Karakkal Anganwadi
  2. LP School Kallopara
  3. Peringara Marthanda Teachers Training Institute

These events were aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility and commitment to environmental protection among the participants, which included children, teachers, and community members.

Establishment of Community Health Clubs

The creation of Community Health Clubs at these centers has played a pivotal role in facilitating meaningful interactions and organizing memorable social events. These clubs serve as a platform for continuous engagement in health and environmental activities, thereby strengthening community bonds and promoting a healthier environment.

Ongoing Programs and Community Engagement

The ongoing programs organized by the Community Health Clubs include educational sessions, health screenings, and environmental conservation activities. These initiatives have been instrumental in raising awareness about health and environmental issues, encouraging community participation, and fostering a collaborative spirit among the members.

Special Acknowledgments

We extend our sincere thanks to Joyalukkas for their generous support in making this event a success. Their contribution has significantly enhanced our ability to organize and execute these environmental initiatives.
