Breaking News: Interactive Session on Traumatic Brain Injury

Good Evening!

Today, the Emergency Department (ED) at [Insert Hospital/Institution] conducted an engaging and informative class on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), led by Dr. Sincy Mariam George and her dedicated team. The session aimed to educate and empower our MBBS students on the crucial aspects of managing TBI cases effectively.

Highlights of the Session:

  • Speaker: Dr. Sincy Mariam George, along with her team, captivated the audience with their expertise and passion for emergency medicine.
  • Live Demonstration: Dr. Annie showcased a live demonstration, providing practical insights into the assessment and treatment of TBI cases.
  • Role Play: Volunteers from the MBBS batches, including Hritik Harikumar (2020), Jerin George (2020), and Yousuf Hussain (2022), participated in an impromptu role-play scenario focusing on the pre-hospital treatment of a road traffic accident (RTA) victim with a head injury.

Key Steps in Pre-Hospital Treatment:

  1. Helmet Removal: With caution and suspicion of a Cervical Spine injury, the first step involved the careful removal of the victim's helmet.
  2. Cervical Collar Application: Next, a cervical collar was applied to stabilize the neck and prevent further spinal cord injury.
  3. Spine Board Placement: The patient was gently maneuvered onto a spine board placed on their right side, with healthcare workers positioned on the left side to assist.
  4. Ambulance Transfer: Once secured on the spine board, the patient was safely transported to the ambulance for further medical attention.

Acknowledgement: Heartfelt congratulations to the ED team for delivering an excellent lecture, fostering learning, and promoting best practices in emergency medicine. Their dedication and commitment to educating the next generation of healthcare professionals are truly commendable.

Closing Note: As we reflect on today's session, let us carry forward the knowledge and skills gained to enhance our ability to respond effectively to traumatic brain injury cases. Together, we strive towards excellence in patient care and continue to make a positive impact in our community.

Well done to all involved! 👏👏👏
