World Physiotherapy Day, observed globally on September 8th every year, aims to raise awareness about the significant role physiotherapists play in promoting health and well-being. This year's theme, "Physical Activity for Life," resonated deeply with the dedicated physiotherapy team at BCMCH.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the distribution of free electric wheelchairs to individuals with limited mobility. In an effort to provide greater accessibility and freedom of movement to those in need, BCMCH distributed several electric wheelchairs to beneficiaries in the local community. The inauguration ceremony of the wheelchair distribution program was graced by the presence of Dr. Rebekka Mathai, the Controller of the Central Depot and Audit Officer, Kerala Health Service. Dr. Sijo Panthapillil, Manager of BCMCH, played a pivotal role in overseeing the event's success. The program was inaugurated by A. Biju, Secretary of the Press Club, who also served as the chief guest.

Dr. George Chandy, Director of BCMCH, Dr. Jeomcy George,Medical Superintendent, Head of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, Dr. Roshan Mary Varghese, Senior Consultant, Dr. Thomas were among the dignitaries who addressed the gathering. They highlighted the importance of physiotherapy in improving the overall health and well-being of individuals and commended the efforts of the physiotherapy team at BCMCH.
