🎉 BREAKING NEWS: A Remarkable Medical Success Story at BCMCH! 🏥👏
In a momentous achievement, the teams in Surgical Endocrinology and Plastic Surgery at BCMCH have come together to perform a life-changing and complex surgical procedure. This story is not only a testament to medical expertise but also to the spirit of collaboration and dedication to patient care.
👩⚕️ Mrs. X's Inspiring Journey Mrs. X, a 37-year-old mother of two, has faced a challenging medical journey. Over the past eight years, she underwent four surgeries to address a phyllodes tumor in her right breast. Unfortunately, despite these surgeries, the tumor continued to grow.
🤝 Collaboration in the Face of Challenge When Mrs. X presented her case to Dr. Arunima Poulose in Surgical Endocrinology, it was evident that the situation was complex. Her right breast was significantly compromised, leaving no remnant tissue for wound closure. This challenge prompted a collaborative effort between the surgical endocrinology and plastic surgery teams.
👨⚕️ The Surgical Team The combined efforts of Dr. Arunima Poulose and Dr. Aneesh Sugunan from Surgical Endocrinology and Dr. Deepak Aravind and Dr. Joyal Jose from Plastic Surgery were instrumental in planning and executing the surgery.
🔬 The Surgical Procedure On September 14th, Mrs. X underwent a combined surgery involving a right simple mastectomy followed by a TRAM FLAP procedure. This intricate surgery, lasting approximately 10 hours in total, aimed to address the tumor recurrence and provide reconstructive surgery to restore her quality of life.
🏡 A Happy Homecoming Today, we proudly announce that Mrs. X has returned home, her health restored, and her life transformed. The success of this complex TRAM flap procedure marks a significant milestone for BCMCH.
🙏 Gratitude to the Dedicated Team This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering dedication of the entire medical team. From radiology to core biopsy reporting, from theater arrangements to surgical execution, every member played a crucial role.
Special thanks go to Dr. Remlabeevi in radiology, Dr. Elizabeth Joseph and her team for prompt reporting, Dr. Ashu and Dr. Abbey with the OT staff for their support, and the staff from FSW and ARDEN care services for ensuring Mrs. X felt at home throughout her stay.
🌟 A Beacon of Hope Mrs. X's story serves as a beacon of hope and showcases the remarkable capabilities of the medical teams at BCMCH. It underscores the commitment to patient care and the ability to overcome complex medical challenges through collaboration and expertise.
We celebrate this medical success and wish Mrs. X a bright and healthy future with her loved ones. Her willingness to support the learning and development of medical students further exemplifies the spirit of compassion and mentorship at BCMCH. 🎉👏🏥
