This cutting-edge intervention is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation in medical care. What is POEM? Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) is an advanced third space endoscopic technique primarily used to treat esophageal motility disorders, such as achalasia. This minimally invasive procedure involves creating a tunnel within the esophageal wall to access and cut the muscles causing the motility issue, thereby alleviating symptoms like difficulty swallowing and regurgitation.
